UC Berkeley Raas Ramzat is Cal’s official competitive Raas/Garba team. Raas & Garba are folk styles of dance native to the Indian state of Gujarat. These dance forms originated in celebrations of the festival season of Navratri and often use props such as dandiyas. At a collegiate level, it has evolved to be a high-energy dance that draws from aspects of both South Asian and Western culture. This past year, we won 2nd place at our competition in Virginia! We are proud to be a close knit team that shares a common passion for dance and beyond. Join UCB Raas Ramzat as we take on the Raas Circuit! ​
